When will the Munich Oktoberfest 2008 take place?

September 20th, 2008 - October 5th, 2008

The Oktoberfest in Munich will open its doors on Saturday, Sep 20, 2008 at noon. The official opening ceremony will be at the Schottenhamel tent, the mayor of Munich will tap the first keg.

What are the opening hours?

Beer Serving Hours
Weekdays: 10am - 10:30pm
Saturdays, Sundays and holidays: 9am - 10:30pm

Daily Tent Closing Time: 11:30pm
The “Käfer Wiesn-Schänke” and the “Weinzelt” are open until 1am. Last call for alcohol: 12:15am.

Bottled Water Consumption Tripled

According to the INTERNATIONAL HERALD TRIBUNE the Bottled Water Sales in the US “reached 8.82 billion Gallons in the US”, which translates to $11.7 billion. The consumption almost tripled since 1990.

In his article “5 Reasons Not to Drink Bottled Water” Chris Baskind highlights that Aquafina and DaSani are basically filtered tap water, and therefore not a very good value.

Finding German Children’s Books in the US is like searching a needle in a haystack. After a one hour Google search I came across a couple of online bookstores. Please let me know if you have additional websites and I will update my list.
